HELPFUL HINTS FOR VEHICLE REGISTRATIONS

It is pretty easy to renew your vehicle on line or by mail.  However, new vehicles and transfers are a bit more complicated.

  • You cannot do them on line.
  • I will need specific information and documents to process a new or transfer.

Please note instructions below:

Used or New vehicle purchased at a dealership:

  • Bought through dealership with a title application done by dealer?
  • Will need Town Clerk copy of title application.
  • If more than one name on title, who will be the first name on the registration.
  • What type of plates are you requesting?

Private sale year 2000 or newer vehicle:

  • Need title from previous owner if from NH.
  • Need more information from other states. (Call for  information necessary)
  • Do you have title from different state? If not, do you have the seller’s last registration?

BUYOUTS ON LEASES:

Please be aware, if you have bought out your lease, you must re--register the vehicle in YOUR name and Month of Birth.  The registration you have on the vehicle as LEASED becomes invalid as soon as you buy it.

PLATE TRANSFER:

You will need the registration from your previous vehicle in order to transfer your plates.
