Tax Collectors Office
The Tax Collector's responsibilities include in addition to collecting taxes and sewer fees, purchasing, buildings and facilities, insurance (interface, claims), welfare back-up and Deputy Health Officer. The Tax Collector also provides information to realtors, financial institutions, attorneys, mortgage companies, and escrow companies on tax related issues. Some of the projects that the Tax Collector is involved in include, restoration of the Opera House, telephone service, directory and maintenance, fuel bids, asset inventory, town property and facility contracts.

2007 Tax Updates
The Tax Rate for 2006 has been set at $19.19 per $1,000 of valuation, outside of the sidewalk and hydrant district , and $19.29 per $1,000 of valuation in the sidewalk and hydrant district.
