Hello every one and greetings from the highway dept.Its november and the holidays are just ahead. And with that said the winter season is apon us.Driving conditions will deminish. Please take the time to slow down,leave space between you and the vehicle your follwing,begin slowing down well in advance of stop signs and intersections.When leaving for work in the morning take time to let your vehicle worm up and defrost your windows so you have a clear vision. Remember laws have been passed and you could be fined for not having defrosted windows and also accummulated snow on your vehicle must cleared off.Chunks of snow blowing off while driving could effect the vehicle behind you.Beware of snow plowing equipment on the roads and sidwalks. Do not follow plow trucks to close as sand and salt are being applyed to the roads.Plow trucks often slow down, stop, or have to back up. If you can not see the driver in his mirror he can not see you behind him, BEWARE! Other winter reminders are Parking Bans, and piling of snow in the rite of way or pushing snow across the road way, to include blocking sidewalks.(see town ordinance) Thats it for now stay safe and alert.
