The Town of Littleton has applied for a federal grant under the USDA Rural Development Community Facilities Program to purchase a new air conditioning system for the Library. The total project cost is $29,000. Littleton is 55% grant eligible. The Town is requesting $15,950 from the Community Facilities Grant program and the Town will be responsible for providing match funding totaling $13,050.

Comments from the public are welcome at an open meeting to be held at 4:45 PM, on July 8, 2019, at the Littleton Town Office Conference Room.

Robert Blechl asked what the funds would be used for. Meagan Carr explained the funds would be used to replace the heat pump for both cooling and supplemental heating.  This will not replace the current heating system but will provide better temperature control.  The $13,050 will come from the Library’s Capital Reserve Fund.  They have a preliminary estimate for the project and will soon be advertising for bids.  They did a ton of research and the system they are proposing is highly recommended.  There is currently a building assessment going on and it should be soon when they receive the final report.  There were no other questions.   Rossi asked for a motion.  Chad Stearns made the motion to accept and expend $15,950 from the Community Facilities Grant Program.  Carrie Gendreau seconded the motion.  The motion passed 3-0.  Stearns made the motion to adjourn.  Gendreau seconded the motion.  Motion passed 3-0.  The hearing adjourned at 5:18 PM.
