Assessing Department
The purpose of this department is to provide clerical support for the process of establishing values for all classes of property on an equalized basis, to prepare warrants for the assessment and collection of taxes to raise municipal revenues and to support the administration of the assessment process through data gathering and the creation and maintenance of related files and records. The work involves receiving, assisting with analysis, responding to abatement applications, and responding to customer inquiries and complaints.
